BACKGROUND ON Glaukos

Avedro, a medical device company founded by visionary David Muller, PhD, specializes in laser vision correction surgery. Within just 12 months of securing Series A funding, Avedro brought their innovative Vedera™ KXS System to market. They were then acquired by Glaukos in 2019.

Glaukos’ challenge was to produce a device that seamlessly integrates into existing medical suites and refractive surgical centers. They needed partners who could meet their tight deadlines while ensuring the device would work within the constraints of existing medical environments.

INNOVA’S SOLUTION

For the engineering and exterior design of their device, Glaukos turned to Continuum, a trusted design consultancy. Continuum reached out to various vendors for the enclosure manufacturing and Innova was selected based on their close proximity and their history of successful collaborations with Continuum.

Innova worked closely with Continuum on the CAD renderings and offered valuable suggestions to refine the enclosure’s design for manufacturability and production efficiencies.

THE RESULT

Thanks to the successful collaboration between Innova and Continuum, Glaukos received their finished enclosures on schedule, allowing the timely market launch of their Vedera™ KXS System.

Glaukos’ management team expressed their satisfaction with the partnership, highlighting Innova’s adaptable and dedicated approach to delivering a high-quality solution.
